Dashmap Folders Guide
Folder name & Create Button - This is where you create folders. Enter a name for the folder you want to create and click the button.
Once the folder appears, you can select files you want to organize in the file picker, and click the “Move Selected Here” button on the folder’s menu to organize your files into that folder. If you want to only view files that are in a specific folder, click the eye icon next to that folder. Click the green eye icon again if you want to go back to viewing all of your files.
If you are viewing a folder, new files will automatically be uploaded to that folder.
Note that if you refresh the page or log out without moving any files into a newly created folder, or if you move all files in a folder out of the folder, the folder will be automatically deleted.
Folders do NOT affect download links or locators. You can reorganize old files as you please without affecting how they are downloaded.
However, the system has a few limitations:
1. You cannot have two files with the same name on your account. For example, if you have image.png in Folder1, and try to upload image.png to Folder2, the image.png in Folder1 will be overwritten and the file will now only exist in Folder2. Avoid using common filenames like “image.png”; instead, try something like myuniquemapname_image.png or similar.
2. You cannot make subfolders (folders inside folders).
